Home Infusion – IV Therapy

Infusion therapy refers to the process in which patients receive medications via needles or catheters in a vein

Home infusion therapy refers to the process in which patients receive medications via needles or catheters in a vein at home. gives patients the unique opportunity to receive intravenous medication or fluids at home. Receiving this care at home rather than a healthcare facility or other care setting is a more cost-effective option. The goals of Home Infusion Therapy are to give patients independence in their care and decrease the need for patients to stay in a hospital.

Infusion services include:

    • Home Intravenous Antibiotic Therapy : When serious infections require intravenous antibiotics for weeks rather than days, many patients can receive treatment at home. Patients with serious infections who need intravenous (IV) antibiotics but who otherwise feel well and don’t have any other reason to be in the hospital may qualify for home IV antibiotic therapy.
    • Hydration Therapy: Hydration Therapy is a unique treatment that administers electrolyte-packed IV fluids directly into a patient’s bloodstream. Depending on the patient’s needs, the fluid may be enhanced with additives such as calcium, magnesium sulfate or a Vitamin B complex. It is a far more efficient method of absorption when compared to the traditional method of drinking liquids/electrolytes.
    • Pain Management : Pain management can be defined as the vital part of medicine, whose approach is to give patients ease and release of chronic pain by the help of interdisciplinary approaches including Physiotherapy, medicine, psychology and other therapies.

  • Antifungal Therapy

    • Total Parenteral Nutrition or TPN : Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is ordered by the physician when a patient is unable to take food by mouth or by enteral (tube) feeding to the stomach or small intestine. Parenteral feeding bypasses the normal digestive system, and nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream through a catheter inserted into a vein.

  • Maintenance of Central Lines

    • Enteral Therapy : Enteral nutrition, also called tube feeding, is when nutrients are given to the patient through a tube that is inserted into the stomach or small intestine. Enteral nutrition may be used for patients who have cancer of the head, neck, or digestive system and whose treatment with chemotherapy and radiation therapy may cause side effects that limit eating or drinking.

  • Chemotherapy
